The Offices of Student Affairs and Academic Affairs developed Maroon U 1000 to provide first time freshman and transfer students with the necessary and helpful information to aid in their transition to Mississippi State University. Maroon U is an informational course designed to provide the student with necessary and useful tips, resources, and strategies to prepare them for a successful academic career at Mississippi State University. The course is delivered online via Canvas to allow students the flexibility to complete the course at their own pace. Maroon U offers a resource guide (found in the FAQ section of the course) that will remain available to the student as part of their Canvas dashboard.
The course consists of six modules within a Canvas. For successful completion of Maroon U 1000 complete the activities in the course. Steps for to access Maroon U are below:
- To access Maroon U, login to my.msstate.edu with your NetID and NetPassword.
- Click on the hamburger icon in the top left course and scroll to Classroom.
- MaroonU will appear on your class list.
- Click the title to access the course and begin.
Alternately, Canvas can be accessed from the direct URL, canvas.msstate.edu. Login with your NetID and NetPassword and the Maroon U course will appear on your Canvas Dashboard.
