Canvas can be accessed on both a computer or a mobile device via the methods listed below. When taking tests and quizzes and when submitting assignments, we suggest always using a computer with a stable, wired Internet connection for the best, most reliable experience.
Methods for accessing Canvas
Log in directly on the Canvas website
- Go to canvas.msstate.edu.
- Enter your NetID/NetPassword, then authenticate with Duo, if prompted. (Note: Duo/MFA is required for all currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff.)
Log in via myState
- Go to my.msstate.edu.
- Enter your NetID/NetPassword, then authenticate with Duo, if prompted. (Note: Duo/MFA is required for all currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff.)
- Under Apps & Services, select Canvas. Alternatively, scroll down to the Classroom section and access specific courses from the links provided.
Log in via the Canvas Student/Teacher app (mobile devices only)
- Download the Canvas Student or Canvas Teacher app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
- Open the app, then tap Find my school.
- Enter Mississippi State University in the search field, then select it from the results.
- Enter your NetID/NetPassword, then authenticate with Duo, if prompted. (Note: Duo/MFA is required for all currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff.)
