Desktop Services Student Worker Position

The MSU ITS Desktop Services is looking for

Student Workers!

 

ITS Desktop Services provides technical support and technical guidance to Faculty and Staff.  We are tasked with supporting their various needs with top-tier customer service.

We are based out of Etheredge Hall 3rd floor.  We work from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.


Student Workers are usually limited to 20 hours/week (during the summer semesters and between semesters Student Workers can work up to 32 hours/week). We do have set schedules based on when the student can/wants to work.  We understand that the primary job for a Student Worker is to be a student and we try to be flexible when it comes to schedules around exams and schoolwork.  The Desktop Student Workers make minimum wage ($7.25/hour when this was written).

 

The roles of the ITS Desktop Student Worker include:
    •    Pickup and delivery of PCs and laptops.
    •    Imaging, configuring, and wiping PCs and Macs.
    •    Assist with clerical duties such as recording mileage or dropping off mail.
    •    Going on-site to assist clients with technical issues.
    •    Assist full-time Desktop staff with tickets.

All MSU employees are required to abide by all MSU policies found at www.policies.msstate.edu.  In addition, ITS Desktop Student Workers are required to maintain a 2.0 GPA and follow the approved dress code (not currently in place).  

Desktop Services currently employees 14 Full Time employees and up to 6 Student Workers. We report to the Director of User Services and are part of ITS. ITS is part of the Academic Affairs Division of the University.
